The Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing, a county-level city administered by the prefecture-level city of Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – is striving to further develop a co-built model industrial park there.
In November 2013, the Taixing Huangqiao EDZ and the Jiangyin High-tech Industrial Development Zone – located in Jiangyin city in Jiangsu province – founded a new industrial park together named the Huanggiao Industrial Park of Jiangyin High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
Due to their different locations in the province, the cooperation between the two zones could be seen as a north-south practice.
In April 2014, the co-built park obtained the recognition of the provincial government and its planned area was 8.66 square kilometers.
At present, a total of 55 enterprises have settled in the park, including 27 enterprises of Jiangyin origin.
From January to May 2022, the co-built park registered invoiced sales revenue of 2.75 billion yuan ($405 million), up 28.87 percent year-on-year and general public budget revenue of 64 million yuan, up 6.6 percent year-on-year. Its foreign investment in actual use hit $ 8.8 million during the period.
Under the market-oriented operations system, the park is aiming at featured, ecological and high-quality development – and on becoming a model among north-south cooperation parks.
