The first cross-border, e-commerce professional association began operations on March 29 in Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.

Its founding is a key sign of the advancements being made in regulating and supporting the cross-border e-commerce industry, according to Tang Chi, chairman of the Taizhou branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

In recent years, a provincial cross-border e-commerce industrial park and a provincial public overseas warehouse have been approved in Taizhou. Two municipal industrial parks, two e-commerce service enterprises and a model company have also been developed at a steady pace.

The latest figures show that the accumulative e-commerce sales of Taizhou have reached over $300 million and the number of cross-border e-commerce enterprises is now above the 1,000 mark, accounting for 50 percent of companies in the city with foreign trade business.

What's more, a host of top-performing companies have sprung up – including  the likes of Rongyi Textile Technology (Jiangsu) Co Ltd, J&F Headwear Group and Haida Plastic & Rubber Packaging Co Ltd.

Meanwhile, the service facilities and attractive policies for e-commerce businesses are these days much more beneficial to relevant companies. Multiple cross-border e-commerce clearance modes are being implemented to cater to their many different needs.

According to the local authorities, the Taizhou cross-border e-commerce service association currently has nearly 150 foreign trade enterprise members.
