The city of Taizhou, Jiangsu province has offered 15,000 internships for young job seekers since the beginning of this year.

Zhu Yifan, a graduate from a local college, is one of the beneficiaries of the city's efforts to provide employment.

Zhu was hired as an assistant engineer in a new energy tech firm after a six-month internship.

The local government has been encouraging employers to offer internship programs to young job hunters, especially college graduates, according to an official in charge of the city's talent service center.

These programs will help the youth gain more work experience and improve their vocational skills, as well as promote employment, the official said.

Taizhou's human resources and social security bureau has also called on enterprises, institutions, and social organizations to offer more internship opportunities.

The local government has approved 647 internship bases, including five provincial-level demonstration bases.

The internship bases will receive a subsidy from the government if they meet certain requirements, and young people can benefit from the internship programs offered by enterprises, which is a win-win-win results for all parties involved.

More measures will be taken to further improve the internship programs and help more college graduates and unemployed young people find jobs, the official with the talent service center said.
