The six major tourist destinations in Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province received over 306,000 visitors, an increase of 283.84 percent year-on-year, during the eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, according to data from the local authorities.

Compared to the same period in 2022, ticket sales increased by 163.23 percent to 9.21 million yuan ($1.27 million).

A total of 2,459 cultural events were held during the holiday period. More than 943,000 people participated in these events.

At the North Square in the ancient street, an outdoor concert, bianlian, also known as face-changing, a hanfu (a traditional Chinese-style of clothing) show, as well as a lantern DIY activity, offered visitors an opportunity to experience a special Mid-Autumn night.

In the Fengcheng River Scenic Area, tourists could admire a Chinese-style boat decorated with flowers and lanterns drifting on the river.

On National Day on Oct 1, a group of intangible cultural heritage inheritors showcased martial arts and kongzhu, a traditional Chinese yo-yo, at the Wanghai Pavilion.
