Taizhou selected as national logistics hub city

Taizhou has been officially recognized as a "Port-Type National Logistics Hub City", marking its inclusion in China's national logistics hub network.
With a prime geographic location and strong transportation advantages, Taizhou boasts 97.8 kilometers of the Yangtze River shoreline, accounting for one-fourth of Jiangsu's section. The city features a fully navigable 12.5-meter deep-water channel, two first-class international ports, and 45 berths for ships over 50,000 metric tons. In 2023, Taizhou's ports handled a record-breaking 460,100 inbound and outbound ships and 496 million tons of cargo.

Taizhou Maritime Safety Administration has played a key role in upgrading riverfront terminals, facilitating the docking of 100,000-ton vessels, and introducing a comprehensive service mechanism for newly built ships. Large-scale new vessel construction remains a major focus, with industry leaders New Times Shipbuilding and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding securing global contracts.

In 2024, Taizhou safely oversaw 139 trial voyages of newly built ships, including 38 vessels exceeding 270 meters long. New ship deliveries generated over $7 billion in foreign exchange, a 72 percent year-on-year increase.
