In the first quarter of 2025, ports across Taizhou recorded a cargo throughput of 105 million metric tons and a container throughput of 111,000 TEUs, marking a year-on-year growth of 4.3 percent.

Among the highlights, the Daming Yangtze River Terminal stood out. Invested and built by Daming International, the terminal boasts an annual designed capacity of 1.05 million tons. Since its opening in July last year, it has played an increasingly important role as a specialized terminal for the steel industry, providing reliable support for transporting oversized products, significantly easing highway transport pressure, and lowering logistics costs. Daming Yangtze River Terminal handled 387,400 tons of cargo in the first quarter alone.

Meanwhile, Jiangsu Unibr International Logistics' terminal in Jiangyan also achieved remarkable progress. In March, its monthly container throughput exceeded 5,000 TEUs for the first time, setting a new record since its opening. Following a cooperation agreement signed with Shanghai International Port Group in 2024, the terminal now offers seamless connectivity with Shanghai Port. Goods shipped from Taizhou can now directly access Shanghai's container resources and shipping routes, simplifying logistics processes and improving transport efficiency.

Another milestone occurred on March 6, when the Panama-flagged vessel Acewin successfully berthed at Shenzhen International Jingjiang Port's Berth No 1. This marked the terminal's first foreign trade vessel since its opening, adding a new international shipping node to the Yangtze River.

Alongside rising throughput, Taizhou is promoting the low-carbon transformation of its port enterprises. Shenzhen International Jingjiang Port has installed a large-scale rooftop photovoltaic power station over three enclosed warehouses, making it the largest in Jiangsu province. Covering 80,000 square meters, the system is expected to generate 12 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 9,000 tons each year.

Furthermore, Taihe Port utilized new energy heavy trucks to transport 2.99 million tons of cargo last year, saving 138,600 liters of diesel and cutting fuel costs by 1.03 million yuan ($140,933).
