Taizhou Museum kicked off an event celebrating the 2025 International Museum Day on the evening of May 17, treating visitors to a vibrant cultural night that blended traditional culture, creativity, and cutting-edge technology.

Held every year on May 18, this year's International Museum Day has adopted the theme "The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities". The public is encouraged to reimagine the role of museums as connectors, innovators, and guardians of cultural identity, while highlighting their role in safeguarding history and culture, engaging young people, and embracing emerging technologies.

Taizhou's celebration invited the public to explore the museum through a series of interactive and immersive experiences that showcased the city's evolving cultural landscape.

Among the most popular activities was a digital AR-based parent-child script tour, which saw over 30 families participate. Parents and children navigated the museum's exhibits together, solving clues and learning about 36 artifacts and 66 cultural facts. Participants received rewards upon completing the challenge.

Another highlight was the immersive mystery-solving experience "The Case of Ming Dynasty Attire". Visitors took on roles such as costume appraisers, artifact restorers, and historians, working together in a simulated investigation to recover a stolen dragon robe. "The experience was so engaging. While tracking down the robe, I learned a lot about traditional Chinese clothing," said university student Zhang Yan.

The intangible cultural heritage zone also drew large crowds, featuring hands-on demonstrations of crochet, dough modeling, pyrography, and more. Dance performances, recitations, and traditional Chinese music performances added to the atmosphere, making the evening a memorable celebration of Taizhou's rich cultural spirit and creative energy.
