China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau's Jingjiang Heavy Industry is stepping up its transformation into a global lighthouse factory for smart manufacturing.
The company is implementing an advanced matrix of smart equipment to enhance production processes and efficiency. The company also introduced the installation of two cantilever welding robots at the steel structure workshop. Equipped with 3D cameras and panoramic imaging, these robots can generate precise 3D models of components, enabling automated welding with a 40 percent increase in efficiency. Their adaptive capabilities allow for handling complex seams, improving flexibility by 50 percent and achieving a weld quality rate of 99.2 percent.
Beyond welding, the company has adopted high-precision fiber laser cutting machines, capable of remote monitoring and automatically generating cutting parameters. Controlled by smart systems, these machines optimize cutting paths and accuracy, increasing efficiency by over 50 percent compared to traditional processes.
Jingjiang Heavy Industry is also integrating advanced management systems, including deploying DeepSeek. The finance department has already hired an AI assistant to automate multiple tasks.
According to company officials, the smart workshops are expected to operate with complete automated production lines, with an expected annual output of 18,000 metric tons of steel structures and a 40 percent increase in overall capacity.
