The 2025 Forum on Innovative Development of Township Economies was held in Beijing on June 5, where the Report on High-Quality Development of China's Township Economies was released.
The report provides a comprehensive evaluation of more than 20,000 township-level administrative units across China — excluding municipalities directly under the central government and the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions. Based on this analysis, the Top 500 Township Economies in 2025 list was compiled.
Jiangsu province stood out with 128 towns making the list, accounting for over one-fifth of the national total. Among them, 35 towns ranked in the national top 100.
Taizhou contributed six towns to the list, showcasing the city's strong performance and innovation in grassroots economic development.
