A newly completed map in Malong village, located in Dasi town of the Taizhou Medical High-Tech Zone, is bringing fresh momentum to rural vitalization efforts.
Developed through multiple rounds of on-site surveys, technical coordination, and official review, the detailed map consolidates data on industrial layout, ecological conservation, and public services, offering a scientific basis for Malong's high-quality development.
Malong village has long faced challenges such as low land use efficiency and limited industrial diversity. Recently, the village has restructured its agriculture by encouraging the cultivation of Chinese medicinal herbs, boosting annual collective income to over 700,000 yuan ($97,052.15). A 1,152-square-meter smart greenhouse now enables standardized medicinal plant production.
The village is divided into three governance zones, with important facilities like public security posts clearly indicated on the map. These zones facilitate services such as volunteer point-reward systems, dispute mediation, and legal advice. For instance, the map shows the locations of elderly low-income residents to help volunteers plan home visits. During environmental clean-up campaigns, the map identifies dilapidated toilets and cluttered areas, motivating residents to join in village beautification efforts.
The map supports current planning and management while also paving the way for future growth. By pinpointing unused homesteads and collective land suitable for development, Malong village seeks to attract private investments in projects like guesthouses and wellness centers. Furthermore, scenic routes through herbal fields are being planned to promote a year-round tourism brand.
By 2026, this model is expected to generate over 500,000 yuan in additional annual income for the village, setting a strong example of rural vitalization in the region.
