Medphoenix supports medical breakthrough with world-class animal testing platform

The laparoscopic surgical robot developed by Tuodao Medical has recently been approved for commercial release. A key contributor to this breakthrough is Medphoenix, a Taizhou-based enterprise that provided critical validation support through its large animal experimental platform.

Large animal testing plays a vital role in the preclinical evaluation of medical devices, ensuring feasibility, safety, precision, and effectiveness before clinical trials begin. Due to the high technical thresholds and historically low success rates of such procedures in China, companies like Tuodao Medical previously relied on facilities in Europe and the United States, driving up costs and delaying product launches.

Since its establishment in China Medical City in 2018, Medphoenix has rapidly grown into a comprehensive service provider for innovative medical devices. With 13,000 square meters of lab space in Taizhou and another 5,000 in Suzhou, the company now conducts over 2,000 large animal surgeries annually, with nearly one-third of all innovative medical devices in China carrying out preclinical evaluations at the facility.

To meet growing demand and support international ambitions, Medphoenix recently launched GoldenWing Medical in the US state of California. The overseas branch aims to address long-standing challenges faced by Chinese medical companies in going global, offering integrated services in animal testing, international clinical trials, global regulatory registration, and supply chain solutions.
