In recent days, production has been in full swing at Jiangsu Times Stage Equipment, with workers in every workshop racing to meet deadlines.
In the testing department, technicians are conducting quality checks on newly completed hydraulic damping fire curtain lifts — specialized systems that, when triggered by a fire alarm, automatically lower rigid fire barriers at the stage opening, effectively separating the stage from the auditorium to protect performers and enable safe audience evacuation.
"This batch of fire curtain lifts will be packed along with other stage equipment and shipped to Russia for two major cultural complex projects," said Yu Feng, president of Times Stage.
Based in Taizhou's Hailing district, Times Stage has transformed over the past four decades from a small township business into one of China's leading performing arts equipment enterprises and a top-tier one-stop service provider for the entire industry chain. The company holds more than 100 patents and copyrights and has contributed to six national standards.
Last year, Times Stage signed contracts worth a combined 1.78 billion yuan ($248.04 million) for stage equipment for two Russian super cultural complexes, marking a major step forward in its overseas expansion. More than 20 containers of equipment have already been shipped to Russia.
"Our team is made up of industry experts from around the world, with extensive venue design and construction experience," Yu said. "We focus on integrating local culture into our project designs to deliver the best solutions and products for our clients."
He added that the company is also planning to build China's first multi-purpose, multi-functional variable theater, which is expected to be completed and showcased later this year.
