Jiangsu Desheng Agricultural Technology Development, based in Desheng village, Xinqiao town, Jingjiang, Taizhou, recorded nearly 3 million yuan ($419,974.01) in sales of agricultural and sideline products from January to July 2025.
The company's legal representative, Yang Quanneng, has been operating the business in his hometown for 11 years. Before returning, he was a manager at Auchan's Suzhou branch. Under his leadership, the company has built cold storage facilities, a product display center, and a trading hub, covering more than 20 varieties across five categories including rice, poultry, shellfish, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
By standardizing production and industrializing operations, the company was recognized as a provincial leading agricultural enterprise in 2022. Its "Desheng Village" branded products have since gained strong market competitiveness — during this year's Dragon Boat Festival alone, sales reached a record 2 million yuan.
Leveraging regional strengths, Yang's team has innovated business models, developed new product lines, and expanded sales channels. "Jingjiang has many specialty agricultural products. We select the best, process them, and sell them under the unified brand," Yang explained.
As the brand's reputation grows, Yang has also broadened his horizons. The company has partnered with Yongshou county in Xianyang, Shaanxi province, sourcing premium local products for further processing and national distribution. In recent years, Desheng has also purchased Xinjiang red dates and Yongshou acacia honey, generating cumulative sales of 20 million yuan and boosting incomes for 3,800 farming households.
