Taizhou's new energy industry has welcomed a new boost as Baoli, a member of Germany's Kion Group, put its first new energy battery module production line into operation in Jingjiang.
The line uses state-of-the-art equipment and fully automated processes, covering everything from cell processing to final module assembly, with a daily capacity of more than 400 units. The foreign-invested company is accelerating its shift from a traditional forklift manufacturing base to a production center focused on core new-energy components.
Kion Group is one of the world's leading providers of industrial vehicles and supply chain solutions, operating 28 production sites across 11 countries. As a subsidiary, Baoli has faced increasingly intense competition in the conventional forklift market. In search of new growth space, the company is moving into higher value-added forklift components, including new energy battery modules, supplying Kion plants worldwide.
Since 2023, Baoli has expanded beyond its traditional strengths and advanced into the new energy sector by building lithium battery, module and wiring harness workshops, while enlarging its R&D team.
Unlike conventional harnesses, wiring harnesses for new energy battery packs require far higher precision and stability. Process engineer Zhang Ze noted that the team has adopted the latest manufacturing techniques and added multiple testing steps to meet the stringent quality standards.
Baoli's sales revenue is expected to surpass 400 million yuan ($56.47 million) this year.
