Shuangdeng Group's energy storage business for artificial intelligence data centers continued its strong growth in the first half of the year, with revenue rising to 47.2 percent of the company's total, up 113.1 percent year-on-year. The business has now become the company's largest pillar.
Driven by surging demand for AI computing power, China has built a multi-level policy framework to support energy storage for data centers. Focusing on the needs of smart computing centers — high-density power supply, efficient cooling, reduced footprint and rapid deployment — Shuangdeng has been advancing the integration of green energy and energy storage in AI data centers, achieving several technological breakthroughs.
In 2022, the company launched a 400-meter production line for aluminum-shell battery cells. Inside its fully enclosed, dust-free workshop, robots handle processes from electrode manufacturing and cell assembly to formation and packaging, requiring only about a dozen employees.
The automated line produces about 350 million ampere-hours of high-energy lithium-ion batteries per year and supports the development of the Jinwei system — characterized by high power, safety, resilience and lifecycle performance — which has now been widely adopted in AIDC facilities.
According to Zhong Yihua, the company's vice-president, the Jinwei system uses full-immersion cooling, submerging battery cells in a specially formulated insulating coolant. The technology allows efficient heat dissipation, strict control of flammable gas release, and ensures that batteries do not ignite or smoke even under extreme conditions. It also improves temperature uniformity on cell surfaces, extending battery life, stabilizing data center operations, and reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
Shuangdeng recently unveiled the overseas version of Jinwei at the 2025 Data Center World Asia in Singapore, showcasing its capabilities in smart energy solutions to a global audience. During the event, the company also signed a strategic partnership with Thailand's Planet Systems to accelerate market development.
