'Taste of Jiangsu' winter food promotion season opens in Jingjiang

The "Taste of Jiangsu" Winter Food Promotion Season kicked off on Dec 6 at the Yangtze River Cultural Center in Jingjiang, Taizhou, injecting fresh momentum into the province's winter dining economy.

Running through February 2026, the campaign features a province-wide culinary carnival built around four main components: a double-decker bus food tour, signature dish showcases, chef demonstrations, and diverse gourmet markets.

By the end of the season, the event will bring together 65 standout dishes from 13 cities across Jiangsu, culminating in a curated New Year banquet that represents the flavors of the province, to be unveiled around the 2026 Spring Festival.

Nearly 200 stalls offer a panoramic display of Jiangsu's culinary heritage, including Nanjing salted duck, Suzhou's braised deep-fried pork bellywen, Yangzhou Wensi Tofu, and Zhenjiang preserved pork. Jingjiang specialties, such as crab-roe soup dumplings, Shuangyu dried pork slices, and the famed pufferfish feast, are also prominently featured.

Additional themed markets, including a coffee-and-music bazaar, a wellness experience zone, and a pet-friendly area, cater to young consumers, lifestyle enthusiasts, and the growing pet economy, creating immersive, multi-format consumption scenes.

Jiangsu is home to two UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy, 12 national-level intangible cultural heritage cooking techniques, and 87 time-honored restaurant brands.
