Hailing strengthens youth employment pipeline

Hailing district in Taizhou is stepping up efforts to connect young talent with local employers through a combination of on-campus recruitment, online hiring platforms and targeted professional training.

Since the beginning of this year, Hailing has hosted 115 recruitment events of various types, helping around 13,000 people reach preliminary employment agreements.

According to officials from the district's human resources and social security bureau, policy support has played a key role. Authorities have visited companies to distribute guides detailing the incentives for hiring college graduates, ensuring subsidies and support measures are fully utilized. More than 21,000 job openings have been posted.

The district has also launched a special column highlighting urgent openings at leading companies. Each issue features one or two major employers and the positions they most need filled. For example, Gangyang Group used the platform to recruit mechanical and gear engineers as well as experienced technical professionals, successfully filling more than 50 positions.

Hailing district has also rolled out a training initiative in partnership with three higher-education institutions. The program integrates academic education with vocational skills certification, with a focus on sectors such as high-end equipment manufacturing. So far this year, 1,370 college graduates have earned both degrees and skills certificates, including 727 who achieved senior technician level or above.

Supporting youth entrepreneurship is another priority. The district has arranged for legal and financial experts to visit universities and industrial parks, where they offer practical guidance and tailored support for aspiring entrepreneurs.
