Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge named among China's most beautiful bridges

The 2025 Bridge and Tunnel Development Technological Innovation Conference, together with an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge bridge and tunnel innovations, was recently held in Guangzhou.

During the event, the results of the "Ten Most Beautiful Bridges (2020-25)" selection were announced, with the Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge earning a place on the prestigious list.

The selection was based on five key criteria: structural soundness, harmony with the surrounding environment, visual and artistic appeal, cultural creativity, and public perception. After a rigorous preliminary review, 20 bridges were shortlisted from 86 submissions nationwide to advance to the final evaluation.

The final judging panel brought together more than 200 bridge engineering experts and 20 specialists in architecture and landscape design. Shortlisted projects were presented through a combination of video showcases and on-site explanations by their designers, giving the jury a comprehensive understanding of both technical merit and design vision.

Winners were determined through on-site jury scoring, combined with votes from the conference's expert committee and attending delegates, resulting in the selection of 10 award-winning bridges.

The Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge stood out for its innovative landscape design, striking a compelling balance between monumental engineering and humanistic expression.
