Taizhou's marine equipment industry sustains strong growth

The marine engineering equipment industry in Taizhou recorded an output value of 22.25 billion yuan ($3.25 billion) in 2025, reflecting a 10.4 percent increase from the previous year. This marks the second consecutive year of double-digit growth and underscores the city's rising strength in advanced offshore manufacturing.

Marine equipment must withstand harsh ocean conditions, including corrosion, high pressure, and powerful waves, placing demanding requirements on manufacturers' research and production capabilities.

Technological upgrading and green transformation are accelerating across the sector. Jiangsu Yuanwang Instrument Group has established a modern production system that integrates sheet metal processing, electrical assembly, instrumentation manufacturing, valve assembly, and precision machining. By adopting data-driven manufacturing and intelligent analysis, the company has transitioned from conventional marine instruments to digitally integrated smart systems.

Major industrial projects are further strengthening Taizhou's marine equipment ecosystem. A 5-billion-yuan container manufacturing project by CXIC Group Containers broke ground in Taixing's Hongqiao Industrial Park in 2025. Using artificial intelligence, big data, and internet of things technologies, the facility is expected to produce 300,000 standard containers and 100,000 specialized containers annually, generating projected annual sales of 7 billion yuan.

Asian Star Anchor Chain is also expanding with an 11-billion-yuan project to develop key mooring systems for deep-sea floating platforms. The project will enhance its capabilities in integrated mooring solutions for floating offshore wind turbines and oil and gas platforms.
