The fourth National College Pet Sports Games took place on March 14 at Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College, drawing students from vocational institutions across the country who specialize in pet-related disciplines.
This year's event featured four competitions: a companion dog obedience contest, a beginner agility course, a frisbee introduction event, and a beginner frisbee competition. The games provided a platform for students to demonstrate their professional skills while highlighting the growing integration of education and the pet industry.
During the obedience contest, dogs worked closely with their handlers, responding attentively to commands and completing tasks such as heeling and circling. The agility course challenged participants with obstacles including hurdles and tunnels. Frisbee events proved especially popular with spectators, as handlers showcased their throwing skills while dogs sprinted and leapt through the air to catch discs, earning enthusiastic applause from the crowd.
The event also featured a special guest lecture by Tytti Lintenhofer, president of the Rally Obedience (ROB) Commission of the Federation Cynologique Internationale. She shared professional insights and training expertise with participants.
In recent years, Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College has strengthened its focus on cultivating pet industry talent. Its School of Companion Animals has trained and delivered more than 10,000 professionals to the sector.
