As trendy tea drinks and specialty coffee continue to reshape China's consumer landscape, many of the country's best-selling beverages share an unexpected common denominator: Bibury.

This ingredient supplier, based in Jiangyan district, Taizhou, has quietly emerged as a powerhouse behind some of China's leading beverage brands. Between January and April of this year, Bibury recorded sales of 61.55 million yuan ($9.08 million) — a year-on-year increase of 167.45 percent. Today, the company holds about 20 percent of the raw ingredient market and serves the nation's top-tier beverage chains.

Honey products have long been Bibury's signature staple. But as coffee culture gained traction among younger consumers, the company spotted a fresh opportunity. Its research team spent over two years visiting beverage shops across the country, analyzing flavor preferences across age groups, and refining recipes through hundreds of rounds of testing. The persistence bore fruit in March 2025, when five varieties of self-developed concentrated coffee extracts entered mass production at Bibury's Jiangyan facility. These products are now steadily supplied to some of China's most prominent beverage brands.

The company first established operations in Liangxu sub-district, Jiangyan, in 2015. A year later, standardized clean workshops and production lines began operating. In 2021, Bibury launched a major technological overhaul, replacing outdated equipment with three fully automated production lines equipped with intelligent systems. The upgrade boosted production capacity by 60 percent while cutting energy consumption by 25 percent.

In April this year, Bibury broke ground on a 500 million yuan expansion project that will add over 22,000 square meters of standardized factory space. Targeting the fast-growing wellness market, the new facility will focus on developing healthier beverage ingredients and products, including low-calorie syrups, functional toppings, and wellness drinks.
