The Jicui surface engineering technology research institute, located in Hailing Industrial Park – in the Hailing district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – held its first shareholders' meeting on Dec 20.
Founded on Dec 19, its premises are to be found in the Xinbao industrial park within Hailing Industrial Park. Core team members include Li Zhengxian, former director of the Northwest Institute for Non-ferrous Metal Research, Xue Feng, a professor at Southeast University and Zhang Pingze, a professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Its main research and development directions include surface protection of harsh environmental materials, surface special function coatings, intelligent surface repairs, surface fine processing and preparation of new surface materials.
The inauguration of the new institute is said to have filled a gap in the development of new research and development institutions in Hailing district, enhancing the agglomeration and expansion capabilities of regional technological innovation.
