To celebrate the 46th Arbor Day, communities in the Jingtai Road sub-district – located in the Hailing district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – came together to plant trees, enhance the local environment and promote environmental awareness.
The residents of Shuangdun community, for one, really got into the spirit of things. Each person played their part, from digging holes to nurturing soil and watering seedlings. Their collective dedication and hard work swiftly transformed the area, with young saplings standing tall, radiating vitality.
Elsewhere, in Jindong community, adult volunteers talked with kids about the significance and origins of Arbor Day. Emphasizing the role of tree planting in environmental beautification, the children eagerly picked up their paintbrushes. With deft strokes, they depicted flourishing trees, symbolizing hope and growth.

The initiative was said to not only demonstrate the community's commitment to environmental stewardship, but also nurture a sense of appreciation for nature among its youngest members.
By instilling environmental consciousness from an early age, the community aims to cultivate a culture of collective responsibility towards protecting our planet.
