The Suchen Sewage Treatment Plant in Hailing Industrial Park, located in the Hailing district of Taizhou, has been rapidly advancing, with the main structure now complete and 30 percent of interior renovations finished.
"Interior work is set for completion by the end of April, followed by mechanical and electrical installations by June", said Han Jian, representative of the construction team on site. "The construction of supporting wetland will begin in the second half of April, with the entire project expected to be finished by the end of December."
With a total investment of around 1.05 billion yuan ($205.38 million), the plant spans 42 mu (2.8 hactares) and serves as a supporting industrial sewage treatment plant for the Hailing Industrial Park.
The establishment of the supporting wetland will further reduce pollutant discharge from the sewage treatment plant. The treated effluent can then be channeled into the Xianfeng River, boosting regional water quality and ecological safety.
The plant will have a daily processing capacity of 20,000 metric tons, with its flowing quality meeting class A standards for urban sewage treatment plants in Jiangsu.
