Jiangsu Zhongke Kehua New Materials Co, or Scienchem, located in the Hailing Industrial Park in Taizhou, has achieved a new milestone after 14 years of development, according to recent data.
It has reached an annual production capacity of 30,000 metric tons, with annual output value exceeding 1.5 billion yuan ($208.48 million) and domestic market share surpassing 20 percent.
Founded in 1984 by the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Kehua has been dedicated to transforming scientific achievements into practical applications.
Over the years, it has introduced over ten categories of products based on original technologies from the institute, including domestically produced 502 glue, cooling masterbatch, and epoxy molding compounds.
In October 2011, Beijing Kehua established Zhongke Kehua in the Hailing Industrial Park, focusing on the research, development, and industrialization of EMC for semiconductor packaging.
"Most of our clients are concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, and our raw material suppliers are also located around Jiangsu province. Choosing Hailing district has significantly reduced our logistics costs," said Xu Dawei, director of the general administration department at Zhongke Kehua.
To further expand production and enhance efficiency, the company launched its second-phase semiconductor packaging materials project in 2023, with a planned total investment of 520 million yuan. Over the next three to five years, 12 EMC production lines will be gradually completed.
"At every critical juncture in our company's development, we have received strong support and assistance from governments and departments at all levels in Taizhou and Hailing district," said Xu when reflecting on the company's over-a-decade-long commitment to Hailing.
