Liu Jianbo, Party secretary of Taizhou's Hailing district, emphasized the district's commitment to advancing Taizhou's modernization agenda during a recent interview. With 2026 marking the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30) and the 30th anniversary of Taizhou's establishment as a prefecture-level city, the district aims to continue contributing to the city's development.

The district will align with Taizhou's development strategy, forging a new development model dubbed "one axis, one belt, two wings". The "one axis" refers to modern services, which will be prioritized in an effort to revitalize traditional business districts while introducing emerging industries. The "one belt" refers to an urban-rural ecological economic belt. Hailing will leverage a national agricultural park to cultivate health food, pet economy, agricultural tech, and smart equipment sectors. The "two wings" refer to Hailing Industrial Park and Hailing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, key areas for the development of new quality productive forces.

Hailing also prioritizes urban renewal and ecological preservation. Initiatives include upgrading infrastructure, protecting historical sites, and launching pollution control campaigns. Liu stressed the importance of improving people's lives through policies tailored to the needs of seniors, youth, and families, such as expanding elderly care services, enhancing education access, and supporting youth employment.
