Over the past five years, Hailing district in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has notched 107 launched major projects worth over 500 million yuan ($74.09 million) each, 67 completed projects, and nine provincial-level key projects, laying a solid foundation for its fast-growing modern industrial system focusing on new energy and new materials, automotives and parts, smart home appliances, and digital economy.
Local component maker Kangqian Mechanical Manufacturing exemplifies this shift: its fully digital production lines have lifted overall efficiency by 25 percent after the second-phase expansion, solving long-standing pain points of frequent small-batch customized product switches. The firm's sales topped 370 million yuan ($54.83 million) in the first half of this year, marking a 20 percent year-on-year jump with orders fully booked through the end of the year.

The district's home appliance industrial chain, led by LG Electronics, has also seen robust cluster growth. Guangdong-relocated Xinghui Electronics now supplies core door frame components to LG, with its newly developed ALS air duct board breaking long-term import reliance. Its smart production lines have boosted efficiency by over 30 percent, driving a 10 percent year-on-year sales rise to 123 million yuan in the first half of 2026.

A provincial-level landmark smart cold chain logistics park is also under steady construction, set to fill the high-end cold storage gap in the northern area of central Jiangsu when it opens in the first half of next year. The facility will deliver full-process digital temperature control and management, supporting local pre-made food and fresh product trade expansion.
