Hailing district in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, is accelerating the development of its new energy industry through a strategy that integrates photovoltaic power generation, storage, charging, and discharging, as local officials push to transform the area into a recognized industrial landmark in the sector.
The district is moving beyond single-component manufacturing toward a diversified portfolio spanning modules, equipment and energy storage. A recent inspection of local enterprises highlighted the urgency of strengthening, supplementing and extending industrial chains while leveraging anchor companies to drive coordinated innovation among upstream and downstream partners.
Two homegrown firms in Hailing Industrial Park illustrate the strong momentum. Jiangsu ZTTEK, founded in 2018, specializes in lithium-ion batteries for industrial and consumer applications, including 5G telecom backup power, vehicle start-stop systems and marine backup supplies. The company collaborates with Harbin Institute of Technology and Beijing Institute of Technology, and supplies China Tower, the three major telecom operators, Huawei and ZTE.
Taizhou Nana Energy Technology, established in 2023 as a subsidiary of Jiangsu Zoolnasm Energy Technology, focuses on sodium-ion battery packs and storage systems. Its products already power electric vehicles for brands such as Aima and Xinri, achieving scaled commercial deployment.
District leaders emphasized that crystalline silicon photovoltaics remain a foundational strength, but future growth will depend on advancing new-type storage and avoiding homogeneous competition through core technology. By fortifying the industrial ecosystem and securing land, capital and talent, Hailing district aims to inject sustained momentum into the high-quality development of new energy.
