Construction is advancing rapidly on Jiangsu Suzhong Aluminum Industry's 1-billion-yuan ($149.34-million) high-end engine casing manufacturing project in Hailing Industrial Park, with full operations scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year.
The capital expansion initiative marks a major development for the region's high-end aluminum smart manufacturing sector. Structural steel framing for two main factories is largely complete, while steel hoisting and scaffolding work are progressing on remaining facilities. Construction teams aim to complete all four factory buildings by the end of December.
Upon completion, the facility will double Suzhong Aluminum's annual production capacity from 500,000 to 1 million sets. The expansion centers on a comprehensive upgrade across equipment, product offerings, and manufacturing processes, shifting operations from traditional processing to automated, high-precision smart production.
Tenders are currently underway for 110 million yuan worth of advanced die-casting and CNC (computer numerical control) precision machining equipment. Once fully operational, the project will feature 20 integrated smart production lines, creating a closed-loop system spanning raw material die-casting, precision machining, and automated quality testing.
Company executives highlight that the project will significantly enhance core competitiveness in precision component manufacturing, address key supply chain gaps in high-end aluminum processing, and strengthen Hailing district's high-end equipment manufacturing ecosystem.
