Ground was officially broken on Sept 8 for the Dongle high-end smart home appliance intelligent manufacturing project in the Hailing Industrial Park, Taizhou, Jiangsu province.
Backed by a 500-million-yuan ($74.67-million) investment from Dongle Refrigeration Technology (Taizhou), the project revitalizes 55 mu (about 3.7 hectares) of idle land and features 40,000 square meters of total building area.
Equipped with over 600 advanced production and testing devices, the facility will house international-grade smart final assembly lines. Upon reaching full capacity, it is projected to produce 1 million refrigerators and freezers annually, yielding an output value of 2 billion yuan, creating about 1,000 jobs, and driving upstream supply chain effects worth over 4 billion yuan.
Smart home appliances serve as a core pillar of Hailing district's modern industrial ecosystem. Anchored by LG Electronics and supported by 36 upstream and downstream enterprises, Hailing Industrial Park has been recognized as a provincial-level characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Led by Dongcheng Group in partnership with LG Electronics' core suppliers and listed company executives, the new project will shift the sector from single-enterprise leadership to a dual-core-driven framework, building a more secure and efficient industrial ecosystem.
