The delicious strawberries produced in Jiangyan district are a proving to be a big hit in the market. Every day, more than 20,000 kilograms of them are sent to retail outlets – including Sam's Club and Alibaba's Hema Fresh – all over the country.

Yan Chuantai, a local villager who was contracted to operate over 20 mu of strawberry greenhouses in 2022, is one of the affluent local strawberry growers.

"My strawberries look pretty, so I don't worry about selling them," Yan said. "I plant more than 20 mu of strawberries and I can earn more than 200,000 yuan ($29,579) a year now," he added.

Jiangduo town invested about 22 million yuan to build the strawberry center at the beginning of 2022. After a year of development, its total annual output value has reached more than 80 million yuan.

Moreover, it provides more than 400 positions for local farmers and the farmers now have an annual per capita income of about 40,000 yuan.
