The 18th China Qintong Millennium-old Camellia Flowers Festival was held in Qintong Ancient Town, a 4A-rated tourist attraction in Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province on March 18.

The iconic 10.2-meter-high camellia tree in Qintong Ancient Town was planted during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and bears hundreds of thousands of flowers when in full bloom, attracting hordes of visitors year after year.

Shi Defa, president of the camellia branch of the China Flower Association, said the ancient tree has become a golden business card for Qintong's tourism.

A slew of promotional activities will result in more visitors coming to Qintong Ancient Town, he said, adding he foresees a bright future for camellia flower-related cultural products.

The flower viewing festival is one of a series of activities organized to support the 16th China Wetland Ecotourism Festival and 2023 China Taizhou Jiangyan Qintong Boat Festival.

This year's boat festival activities are scheduled to last until the end of June and integrate tourism with economic and trade activities, as well as recreation and culture.
