Guided by local Party organizations, the Shuangdun residential community developed a strawberry plantation in 2022.

In order to fully utilize its existing infrastructure and land resources,  farmers also planted vegetables such as loofah and sweet corn in the greenhouses there.

Farmer Yin Hongsheng, 73, said he currently deals with some simple jobs – such as weeding, picking and sorting – while village cadres are responsible for important areas such as cultivation techniques, management and marketing.

Deng Yabing, the deputy Party secretary of the community, said: "This year, we planted sweet and glutinous corn, loofah, soybeans and other vegetables. Now we have started selling out products through e-commerce platforms".

In recent years, Shuangdun community has restructured its industrial base and promoted the development of rural tourism, such as strawberry picking, which have become a new engine driving the rural vitalization.

Deng added that rural tourism has attracted many young people who head out to the countryside for barbecues, picking strawberries and vegetables, as well as to go fishing.
