In the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – the village of Daan is celebrating a bountiful asparagus harvest, boosting the incomes of local farmers and their prosperity.
The vegetable's high nutritional value and popularity has paved the way for an average daily yield of over 500 kilograms, transforming the area into a hub of economic growth.

The surge in production has not only met market demand but also increased the incomes and prosperity of locals.
Asparagus cultivation in Daan village, which began in 2016, now benefits from a mature planting technology.
With over 200 mu (13.33 hectares) there dedicated to asparagus growing, the average income per mu has now reached about 4,000 yuan ($555.67) – solidifying the vegetable as a specialty sector that is driving local prosperity.
"Working around eight hours a day, I can earn over 100 yuan and with the workplace being close to home, it's incredibly convenient," said 68-year-old Wang Fengming, a seasoned member of the asparagus team.
