During the May Day holiday, Jiangyan district rolled out a series of initiatives centered on travel, shopping, and entertainment, issuing nearly 2 million yuan ($277,736.48) in consumer vouchers. These efforts directly drove over 76 million yuan in spending, contributing to a vibrant holiday economy.

To stimulate consumption across the full dining, lodging, transportation, travel, and shopping chain, Jiangyan is offered a variety of targeted vouchers, including dining coupons, retail discounts, and automotive subsidies.

Special deals for tourists, such as morning tea and Qintong Lake specialty cuisine vouchers, helped generate nearly 1.8 million yuan in catering sales.

In partnership with UnionPay, the district launched supermarket coupons offering 20 yuan off purchases over 100 yuan, combined with retailer promotions, driving an estimated 2 million yuan in sales.

On top of national and provincial subsidy policies, Jiangyan issued 1.6 million yuan in car purchase incentives, resulting in the sale of 582 vehicles and 74.07 million yuan in retail revenue growth.

The district also leveraged resources from banks and e-commerce platforms to collaborate with major malls and commercial centers, offering combined "discount + raffle + group-buy" campaigns that drew crowds and boosted spending, especially among younger consumers.

Promotional activities across supermarkets featured over 1,000 essential items at 50% off. Tapping into the momentum of the national "trade-in" initiative, Jiangyan incentivized big-ticket purchases in home furnishings, building materials, and electronics through a mix of subsidies and raffles.

Adding a cultural touch, Jiangyan created special intangible cultural heritage (ICH) gift boxes and distributed them for free at designated hotels. Featuring traditional brands and local delicacies, these boxes offered tourists an immersive cultural experience that reflected Jiangyan's water-town heritage and its unique "slow lifestyle”. So far, nearly 4,000 ICH gift boxes have been distributed, generating an estimated 990,000 yuan in hotel revenue and over 20,000 online impressions for ICH products.

Over the holiday period, Jiangyan welcomed approximately 972,000 tourists—a 4.53-percent year-on-year increase—and recorded around 486 million yuan in tourism revenue, a 21.5-percent growth.
