Rural coffee shops bloom in Jiangyan

As May brings pleasant weather and lush greenery to the Jiangyan district, "village cafes" are becoming increasingly popular destinations for tourists and locals alike.

In Xuzhuang village, Jiangduo town, Meihao Cafe has repurposed a 1990s farmhouse, preserving its rustic textures while introducing a modern aesthetic. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows on three sides of the ground floor offer immersive views of the changing seasons, making the cafe a relaxing escape from urban stress. In this rural utopia, visitors reconnect with a slower pace of life.

During the May Day holiday, Chunye Cafe in Heheng village, Qintong town, drew large crowds on its opening day, quickly becoming a trending topic on social media. Seamlessly blending into the surrounding rice fields, the cafe invites guests to sip coffee while wading through the paddies. "Sitting by the wheat field, with music playing and coffee in hand — I felt completely uplifted," said visitor Xu Min.

Chunye Cafe is planning a major upgrade with a total investment of 2 million yuan ($277,724.68). The future expansion includes lawn camping areas, a vibrant rapeseed flower landscape, and floral photo spots. The cafe aims to create a multi-functional rural space combining dining, coffee, reading, and study tours, turning the rural coffee trend into a rural tourism and vitalization driver.

Meanwhile, Kuye Camping Base in Hezhuye village, Yuduo town, has become a magnet for young urbanites. The base features a rice field leisure zone, a cafe area, and panoramic farmland views. A unique initiative here donates 5 yuan to families and children in need for every cup of coffee sold, and each visitor receives a "Rural Love Ambassador" badge, blending recreation with social responsibility.

These creative rural spaces redefine how people engage with the countryside, making "village cafes" a new symbol of Jiangyan's slow living charm and rural vitalization.
