The eighth batch of Jiangsu's Traditional Villages was officially announced on July 9, with three villages in Jiangyan district making the list. This brings the district's total to 21 recognized traditional villages—ranking fourth in the province and second within the city of Taizhou.

The newly listed villages include Jiangmao village in Yuduo town, located near the 5A-rated Qinhu Lake Scenic Area. Known for its rich cultural heritage, the village is home to historical landmarks such as Fuxing Temple, a Song Dynasty (960-1279) well, the Jiang Family Ancestral Hall, and a centuries-old ginkgo tree. Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) residences still stand, and local traditions like temple fairs and festive drumming continue to be celebrated today.

Zoucheng village, situated west of Qintong town, is notable for its collection of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) wells and well-preserved grey-bricks, offering a glimpse into the area's long-standing architectural and cultural legacy.

Bianzhuang village in Yuxi town also made the list, recognized for its deep-rooted history and cultural significance. The village still retains a Ming Dynasty wooden pavilion with intricate carvings, a rare and valuable artifact of its time.

The continued recognition of Jiangyan's villages reflects the district's strong efforts to preserve traditional culture, promote rural heritage, and combine historical conservation with sustainable development.
