Jiangsu Gentech Semiconductor Equipment Co has become a key player in China's semiconductor supply chain, advancing in high-purity gas delivery systems. Using proprietary technologies developed internally, the company has addressed essential domestic needs and revitalized the country's high-tech sectors.
At its quality inspection center, engineers are testing a prototype of Gentech's latest high-purity gas delivery unit. This system features an intelligent pressure-control mechanism that enhances delivery accuracy by 15 percent and decreases energy use by 8 percent. The innovation will soon be installed on a production line at a major Chinese semiconductor fab. The R&D team completed the full process — from design to prototype — in only 10 months, a speed that has become the company's signature.

"We dedicate about 15 percent of our annual revenue to R&D," said Xia Qianqian, Gentech's production manager. "Last year alone, we filed 23 patent applications, including eight invention patents."
In addition to product innovation, the company is also working to enhance the broader semiconductor ecosystem. "We are partnering with local materials suppliers to develop advanced semiconductor-grade inputs, which will help lower costs and improve efficiency throughout the industry supply chain," said Shi Nan, senior manager at Gentech's manufacturing center.
Gentech's equipment is now employed in sectors like semiconductors, new energy, and biopharmaceuticals, with its domestic market share rising from under 15 percent in 2016 to over 40 percent today.
