As the Mid-Autumn Festival approached, Yuduo town in Jiangyan district invited a group of international guests from different countries to join local youth in experiencing traditional Chinese customs such as making mooncakes and crafting lanterns, sharing in the joy of reunion that transcends borders.

At the event, participants sat together kneading dough, filling paste, and pressing molds — every step of mooncake making was full of novelty for the foreign guests. With guidance from a local baker, they soon got the hang of it.

During the lantern-making session, creativity flourished as local youth helped their foreign friends assemble bamboo frames and paste colored paper. Between activities, some foreign guests even took to the stage to sing, adding to the lively festive atmosphere.

Taras, one of the international participants, said he was delighted to take part in the event and enjoyed making mooncakes and lanterns with Chinese friends, calling it an honor to experience such traditional customs.

Local youth Zhou Min said that while eating mooncakes and appreciating lanterns are common Mid-Autumn traditions, hands-on experiences like this are rare. "Today I not only made mooncakes myself but also interacted with people from abroad — this Mid-Autumn Festival feels especially festive," she said.
