Qintong Ancient Street in Jiangyan district came alive on the evening of March 3 as a vibrant Lantern Festival celebration, brimming with traditional charm and festive cheer, offered tourists an immersive cultural feast.
As night fell, the ancient town was set ablaze with stunning lights and excited crowds. Accompanied by melodious ancient music, a parade of fish lanterns meandered through Quexian Island, their radiant glow captivating onlookers. Equally eye-catching was an ancient-style wedding procession, giving visitors a taste of water town wedding customs.
At 8 pm, dazzling fireworks went off overhead, painting a magnificent picture against the night sky and leaving the audience in awe.
Following the fireworks, a traditional datiehua (striking iron flower) performance brought the festive atmosphere to its climax. Performers brandished fire pots, sending sparks flying like falling stars, sparking waves of cheers.
