With the annual Qintong Boat Festival approaching, 237 teams across Jiangyan district have begun intensive training on the water.
At the Qinhu Lake scenic area on the morning of March 10, the training site was brimming with activity. Boats cut through the waves as teams practiced their respective techniques.
The training runs from March 7 to 26. Punting boat preliminaries will take place on March 28, followed by dragon boat preliminaries on March 29. Winning teams will advance to the finals on April 6, the opening day of the festival.
This year, six teams from five universities have been invited to join the competition. The clash between experienced locals and fresh college crews promises to be exciting.
