Taizhou Qiyang Agricultural Technology in Louzhuang town, Jiangyan district, saw sales of its salted duck eggs surge around Dragon Boat Festival, as demand for the traditional festive food peaked.

"Around Dragon Boat Festival every year, our duck egg sales hit their peak. Our average daily shipments have recently hit 6,750 kilograms, with daily sales exceeding 70,000 yuan ($10,296.20)," said Chen Wenjun, the company's production manager.

Unlike conventional free-range or pond-based systems, Qiyang's breeding base is fully automated and uses intelligent farming practices throughout the entire process. Feeding, watering, egg collection, and manure cleaning can all be done with a single click.

Two years ago, Qiyang launched its smart farming project for duck eggs. Today, the farm houses 120,000 laying ducks, which have now reached peak production. Thanks to the intelligent farming system, the egg-laying rate has remained above 90 percent, meaning more than 90 eggs are produced daily from every 100 ducks.

Bao Xinqi, deputy head of Louzhuang town, said that Qiyang's successful model has set a positive example for the local area. Moving forward, the town will continue to focus on high-quality projects to drive the development of modern agriculture.
