A 20-mu (1.33 hectares) lotus pond in Dalun town, Jiangyan district, has entered its prime season, with emerald lotus leaves unfolding and lotus flowers blooming gracefully, creating one of the district's most beautiful rural summer scenes.
This picturesque lotus pond, however, was once a patch of abandoned land. To revitalize idle resources and improve the rural landscape, local authorities transformed the site into a lotus pond, tailoring the project to local conditions.
The scenic pond not only offers villagers an ideal spot for leisure, sightseeing, and flower appreciation but has also drawn numerous tourists from surrounding areas.
Taking full advantage of the pond's economic potential, the local community has also launched products such as lotus flowers and lotus seeds, turning the site's ecological beauty into tangible economic benefits.
