A new energy storage cell project of Shuangdeng Group, based in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, started production on Aug 4, with new products expected to roll off the production line by the end of the month.
With a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($700 million), the project is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 10 gigawatt-hours once fully operational.
After more than three decades in the energy storage sector, Shuangdeng has developed into a leading company with capabilities spanning research, development, manufacturing and services.
The company ranked first globally in shipments of telecommunications and data center energy storage batteries in 2024. In 2025, its shipments for base stations and data centers ranked first among Chinese companies. The company has also been listed among BloombergNEF's Tier 1 energy storage manufacturers for consecutive years.
Today, its products and solutions are deployed in more than 150 countries and regions, helping ensure stable power supplies for nearly 2 billion people worldwide.
