The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – in East China's Jiangsu province – has worked hard to develop niche crops to help boost the incomes of farmers and to promote local rural vitalization, local media reported.

A wonderful thing can be seen at Diao's courtyard in Jiahe village – administered by Qintong town in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – where a centurial-old peony tree is now in full bloom, attracting hordes of visitors daily.

The launch ceremony of a rural tourism festival was held on March 29 in Heheng village, Jiangyan district, marking the start of the six-month-long event and featuring great performances on the day.
