Geography and administrative division
Jingjiang city is located in south central Jiangsu province, which is adjacent to the Yangtze River and near the ocean. Situated along the north bank in the center of the "golden waterway" from Shanghai to Nanjing – capital of Jiangsu – it is located on the opposite side of the Yangtze River from the cities of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou in Jiangsu.
As an important modern harbor and industrial city in the Yangtze River economic belt, it covers an area of 665 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 685,000.
It governs one national economic and technological development zone, one provincial development zone, eight towns, one sub district and three offices.
Natural environment
Jingjiang has a mild climate and beautiful environment, with an urbanization rate of 67.41 percent and a greening rate of 39.82 percent in the urban built-up area.
It has been honored as a National Civilized City, a National Garden City, a National Sanitary City and a National Environmental Protection Model City.
