Jingjiang – a county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is helping to boost the development of the country's liquefied natural gas sector.

The Daming Jingjiang Processing Center, located in Jingjiang, recently played a critical role in delivering a batch of high-quality 9Ni steel plates for the CNOOC Binhai LNG project in Jiangsu province.

The delivery was said to be a crucial milestone in the timely completion of a "super project" called the CNOOC Jiangsu Binhai LNG project – which is a strategic endeavor in the development of the country's national natural gas production, supply, storage and marketing system.

The initial phase of the project includes 10 major LNG storage tanks, making it the biggest domestic LNG reserve facility and the world's biggest construction project for an LNG receiving terminal.

The Daming Jingjiang Processing Center is reportedly playing a vital role in the success of the project, with it responsible for the prefabrication and processing of the inner tanks.

In the first phase, the center worked with Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co Ltd to supply high-quality inner tanks for two 220,000-cubic-meter LNG tanks.

This time, the center provided its expertise for the construction of four inner tanks, each with a capacity of 270,000 cu m.

The tanks each covers an area comparable to that of a standard soccer field, making them the world's largest independently designed and constructed single-tank capacity tanks.
