Jingjiang Southern Industrial Park recently held the finals of the Jiangping New Environment Cup Fitters' Skills Competition.
The park – located in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is home to nearly 600 manufacturers.
The competition featured 20 participants who excelled in a qualifying theoretical exam and were now competing in practical assessments.

Fitters are regarded as an essential role for manufacturers – including tool fitters, mold fitters and assembly fitters.
During the contest, over 40 fitters from local manufacturers received materials and kits and had to process individual parts, complete their assembly and debug things in less than an hour.
The judges evaluated the participants' completion rates and product quality according to relevant professional standards and selected first, second and third-place winners.
On Oct 8, the local labor union awarded the first prize winner with an honorary certificate and the title of Skills Model.
Workforce skills competitions are a branded activity created by the labor union, providing a platform for skilled artisans to showcase their abilities and facilitating learning and exchanges.
