Well-known for its dried pork industry, Jingjiang is also often called the "Home of China's dried pork slices" and a "high-quality dried pork slices industry base".

Located in the city's Northern Industrial Park, the museum is divided into three sections – the History Hall, the Modern Hall and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall – which have 32 attractions, 16 historical data exhibits, 24 physical models and six audio-visual interactive areas.

Zhang Wenyue, chairman of Jiangsu Weibage Foods Co Ltd, said, "We will use the dried meat museum to carry out industry and academic research, protect, inherit and promote the intangible cultural heritage of Jingjiang dried meat, and tell its story."

Organizers plan to expand the museum's exhibits and introduce more experiential activities to attract visitors.
