Shipbuilder New Times Shipbuilding Co Ltd, a leading company in Jingjiang – a county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has secured a watershed achievement by obtaining a whopping 31 orders for oil tankers.

They total 3.92 million deadweight tons and are due to be delivered in 2024.

This success follows the company's resurgence, with 59 vessels ordered in 2023, ranking No 1 among shipyards worldwide, according to data released by London-based shipping services provider Clarkson Plc.

Amid a shipbuilding industry downturn, the company has focused on low-carbon emissions reductions and independent innovation, leading to the development of high-end products that are highly favored by the international market.

In 2023, New Times Shipbuilding completed and delivered 27 ships, totaling 3,711,500 dwt, with an impressive increase in economic indicators.

The company also secured orders for 43 additional ships last year, amounting to 6,483,000 dwt, setting a record for the highest holding orders in the company's history.

With a current total of 101 orders, totaling 13,273,700 dwt and scheduled deliveries until 2027, the company is poised for further success.

As the shipbuilding market continues to rebound, New Times Shipbuilding has kicked off the new year with efficient production, aiming for a strong start in 2024.
